BEIT BATZ
About
The Full Story
Meir and Sarah Batz left their comfortable life and moved to Beer-Sheva. Meir was a planner of the southern district of Israel. Amongst others, he planned the canal from the Mediterranean Sea to the Dead Sea known as the Med-Dead Canal. Sarah established the first high school in the south of the country, after gathering young immigrants who did not speak the language. Following her success, she established a language learning center for new immigrants with academic education, which was the first of its kind. After Meir's death, Sara built the building in Beer-Sheva to establish a cultural and educational center. In her eyes, she saw teachers coming from all over the world, and during the teaching period, they stay in the building where the studies and other cultural and social activities are also conducted.
